Family Office Directory

There are a number of different types of hedge funds out there that are recognized by the Security Exchange Commission. One of the more exclusive is a “family office”, a private fund that may be run by a few key executives for a family; only the family (those related by a common ancestor within ten generations) and the its executives may invest in the fund. Although there was a limit of fifteen members at one time, the SEC eliminated that limit so that they could have jurisdiction over the fund. This increase in potential membership has increased the interest in investors gaining access to family office directory.

The directory lists a number of different family offices. As they are not public, and are in fact prohibited from becoming public, the directory is the only way that others can become aware of the fund. With the directory a person is able to sell investment tools and other products to the hedge fund; this is potentially big business for the person as this fund can is worth an average of $10-$20 million dollars. By selling to this particular hedge fund, a person selling investment products can make a proverbial killing. However, as these are not exactly public knowledge, it can take some research to find one, but once found they can be sold like any other piece of information. Suffice to say that finding a good directory can make an investment broker’s day, especially if it families that are receptive to his message.
